Review: Pixie Salon

Pixie Salon is hidden in South Park. Most people don’t even know San Diego has a South Park – but if they did they would probably want to move there for the obvious reason.

A particular reason for wandering outside of North Park is the Pixie Salon. The prices at Pixie are reasonable for the expertise that is given to each guest. The stylists, Amy, Jenny, Michele, Paula, and Danielle, all have longstanding knowledge and at least ten years industry experience. Not overdoing hair or recreating what is already styled to perfection – the stylists work with your hair and enhance your natural beauty. But this doesn’t mean they are shy; when it comes to experimenting with color or cut, Pixie stylists bring their hard-work and previous in-house design to the table.

The salon décor is retro chic, with exposed brick walls, open ceilings, white chairs, and Victorian style seating for those waiting. Always urban and funky; one could probably get away with calling the Pixie Salon sweet, perhaps because all stylists are women. Consistent in bringing in repeat clientele and maintaining a professional relationship, these gals also pursue their beauty-school education. What’s unique is their willingness to be completely open about their technique, to share their secrets with you at any time.

Only using the best products in the industry, the Pixie Salon treats their guests to the L’Oréal Series hair care line as well as the L’Oréal Professional Color line. They offer haircuts, highlights, single process color, eyebrow waxing, and special event styling.
